Plan Your New Year’s Eve Party Destination

Looking for a rundown on what’s happening this New Year’s Eve? The Port City as well as area beaches offer a wide range of festivities – here are a few to consider:

In Carolina Beach, High Tide Lounge, 1800 Carolina Beach Ave. N., will host a New Year’s Eve party with drink specials, champagne, DJ Lady Soul and free breakfast at 12:15 a.m.

Seawitch Café & Tiki Bar, 227 Carolina Beach Ave. N., will host a New Year's Eve bash featuring live music from Machine Gun. Tickets are $20 per person and include the live performance starting at 8 p.m., followed by a DJ at midnight. There will be a heated tent and red carpet walk-in, a photo booth, complimentary favors and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. A special dinner menu will also be served and drink specials will be offered throughout the evening.

HopLite Irish Pub and Restaurant, 720 N. Lake Park Blvd., will be dropping the shamrock at 7 p.m. with an Irish Blessing. Owners Ron and Noël Stevens invite guests to and toast the New Year on Irish time and in Irish style.

In the Riverlights neighborhood, Southern Shores Craft Beer & Wine, 109 Pier Master Point, will host a Masquerade Ball with drink specials and a free champagne toast at midnight. The best mask wins a bottle of Champagne, and the festivities kick off at 9 p.m.

In downtown Wilmington, ring in 2019 in the Brooklyn Arts District at Palate Bottle Shop & Reserve, 1007 N Fourth St., at A North Fourth New Year's. Guests are invited to sit around the fires beneath a blanket, while sipping Champagne and listening to the musical stylings of Professor Dub. Cheese and charcuterie platters and other finger foods will be served. When midnight approaches, all guests will receive a free glass of Champagne to countdown the clock. Tickets are $20 per person.

Waterline Brewing Company, 721 Surry St., will host a New Year's Eve Any Shade of Masquerade Party with live music from Striking Copper. The no-cover event gives guests the opportunity to fancy up and party (or not), welcoming those who prefer sunglasses to masks. Food trucks will be on site starting at 6 p.m., and Striking Copper will take the stage at 9 p.m. A complimentary Champagne (or beer) toast will take place at midnight.

On the Market Street corridor, Dig and Dive, 3525 Lancelot Lane, will ring in the New Year with a party that includes a buffet and a Champagne toast with a dance party hosted by DJ SBz. Tickets are $20 per person.

JohnnyLukes KitchenBar, 5500 Market St., will serve a surf & turf dinner with a choice of a 7-oz. center cut filet mignon, 12-oz. flame grilled rib eye, or 11-oz. slow roasted prime rib, paired with your choice of a lobster tail or jumbo lump crab cake. All are served with JL's signature mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a glass of champagne for $38. Later in the evening, DJ Climactic will be delivering his firework light show and spinning tunes from the 60’s through today with complimentary appetizers and Champagne toast at midnight. And toward Wrightsville Beach, Wild Wing Café, 1331 Military Cutoff Rd., will host a no-cover dance party with music from Jason Jackson & Eastbound. Drink specials, party supplies and a free Champagne toast at midnight are all on the docket.

1900 Restaurant & Lounge, 1900 Eastwood Rd., will host a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner for $60 per person, with dinner guests receiving free passes to the all-night party. DJ Joey Hall will get the party started at 10 p.m. Call (910) 509-2026 for dinner reservations.
