Tama Cafe’s Wilmington location is now serving beer and wine in addition to its signature teas.
 
Co-founder Rocco Quaranto said the company did a “soft launch” of the beverages last month, which was met with great success.
 
“We already have a drink menu that makes us unique from other cafes and we wanted to expand on that by introducing alcohol,” Quaranto said. “We want to offer something different to our customers that they can't find anywhere else.”
 
The cafe is now offering 12 types of mimosas, uniquely made with signature teas and coffees, as well as freshly juiced fruits. Mimosa flights are also available, offering the signature cocktails in smaller portions, with the choice of four per flight.
 
In addition to the mimosas, red and white wine as well as rosé are available.
 
Tama Cafe, 1127 Military Cutoff Road, recently partnered with Wrightsville Beach Brewery so the brewery could create two unique beers using Tama teas. The beers, a pale ale brewed with matcha green tea and a Mexican lager with Argentinian chai, are currently available at the brewery as well as at the cafe.
 
“The Tama Brew Chai Chai is amazing,” Quaranto said. “This has been a great partnership because the folks at Wrightsville Beach Brewery are so willing to experiment with new flavors and ingredients. Like us, they want to put a fresh spin on things and offer food and beverages you can’t find elsewere.”

Tama Cafe has also partnered with an up and coming California non-profit, Thirst Project, and is donating 1 percent of all in-app purchases to help tackle the world water crisis.
