Epic Excursions, a newly created company offering a variety of excursions on local waterways, is teaming up with Spoonfed Kitchen & Bake Shop for its first Farm to Sea Dinner, which will take place 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Epic Excursions owners Ian and Kristi Balding have enjoyed many water-based excursions in the Caribbean Islands, and longed to provide these kinds of experiences to locals and visitors.

“There are so many beautiful islands and waterways to explore in our area and we want to make that more accessible to anyone looking enjoy a really unique experience on our local waters,” said Kristi Balding.

Current excursions include paddle boarding and surfing, as well as boat charters and glamping (glamorous camping).

Thursday’s dinner will be the Baldings' first partnership with a local eatery to provide a unique dining experience on Masonboro Island.

The dinner will include a boat charter aboard a 23-foot catamaran deck boat, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by an intimate three-course dinner for six during sunset hours.

“Kristi and Ian have been great customers of ours and we are really excited to work with them on the first Farm to Sea dinner,” said Matt Lennert, co-owner of Spoonfed Kitchen.

Lennert and his wife, Kim, as well as the Baldings look forward to working with customers to plan customized events.

“We can accommodate all kinds of groups for customized excursions, from families, to girls night’s, to wedding parties,” said Kristi Balding.

Balding said that in addition to partnering with Spoonfed Kitchen, she has been approached by other local restaurants such as Catch and Epic Food Co.

“Working with a variety of local restaurants and chefs will allow us to continue to expand our offerings and create a variety of experiences,” Balding said.

Epic Excursions also currently offers a weekly Wine’d Down Wednesday scenic paddle boarding cruise. Guests will paddle among marshes and waterways that are accessible only by boat, followed by a sunset cruise and a glass of wine for $100 per person.

Tickets for Thursday’s Farm to Sea Dinner are still available by calling 239-9248 for reservations. For further details on Epic Excursions or to book a private event, visit the company's website.
