Porters Neck restaurant Temptations Everyday Gourmet is for sale.

Owner James Snyder, who sold the Hanover Center location of Temptations in late 2017, is planning to move.

Snyder had owned both locations since 2005.

“I made a personal decision last year to sell and return to the West Coast where I’m from, and where all my family resides,” Snyder said in a news release.  “We all face these type of decisions at some point in our lives when our parents are aging and you need to be closer to them.”

The price of the restaurant at 8207 Market St. is $65,000, which does not come with the "Temptations" name because that was conveyed to the new owners of Hanover Center's Temptations Gourmet Cafe, 3501 Oleander Drive.

Closing wasn’t an option Snyder wanted to consider, the release stated, because the Porters Neck location is a fully staffed, turn-key operation led by Culinary Institute of America-trained chef Michael Comer. Comer and staff "are willing to stay on with new ownership to continue the growth the business has realized this year and capture new customers from the development happening in the surrounding area," according to the release.

Business broker Joan Loch said in the release, “Temptations in Porters Neck is an example of your neighborhood restaurant that gets to know your name, and 13 years in this location has provided them an established customer base from the affluent neighborhoods surrounding them. Chef Michael and team often greet regulars from their station where you see them in action.”

The restaurant is fully equipped and includes a wine shop, with the wine and other inventory coming with the sale price.

"A new owner can walk in, get transition help from Snyder and see monthly positive cash flow.  An ROI [return on investment] within two years is not unrealistic at this sales price," Loch said in the release. “We are on a timetable, but we know there is a buyer out there and we are determined to find them.”
