Dinners at the Leland location of Fat Tony’s Italian Pub have been enjoying a new, expanded lunch menu in recent months, an effort to satisfy the diverse midday appetites of Brunswick County’s booming community.

“We wanted to offer more choices and more variety,” said Hannah Soper, assistant general manager.

So far, people seem to be responding the new items, she said.

Among the most popular additions are the wraps. There’s a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and a Corned Beef Wrap, which is made with one of the restaurant’s specialties, brisket slow-cooked in Guinness. Other new sandwiches include the Italian Hoagie and Shrimp Po’ Boy.

“There are also more vegetarian options,” Soper said.

The grilled vegetable sandwich is made with seasonal vegetables and mozzarella on house-made foccacia, and there’s also a new grilled vegetable platter. “We slice fresh vegetables in the morning, grill them and drizzle them with balsamic vinegar," Soper said.

Right now you have to go to the Leland location at 503 Olde Waterford Way to check out the new lunch menu. It's not listed online and not yet available at the downtown location of Fat Tony’s.

“Eventually, they will be though,” Soper said of the additional items.

The dishes have been so popular they will likely appear at the other location soon. Lunch prices range from $7.99 to $11.99.

Fans of the Fat Tony’s Lunch Special, where eaters can get two slices of one-topping pizza and a side salad for $9.49 shouldn’t worry, though. That’s still on the menu.
