Jada O’Malley and Michael Baker, local franchise owners of Your Pie, have found a location for their business on a heavily traveled Wilmington corridor.

The build-out for the new eatery will begin next week on the 2,560-square-foot space at 4403 Oleander Drive, behind Moe’s Southwest Grill.

“It’s ironic that we ended up deciding on the very first location we looked at,” O’Malley said. “We looked at a lot of options to make sure we had the right fit, and in the end we knew that this one had the right feel.”

Your Pie allows customers to create their own pizzas with hand-tossed dough and as many fresh toppings as they like, all for the same price. The handcrafted pizzas are delivered to the table in about five minutes.

“Your Pie fits the fast-casual format that consumers want – high-quality food, their way – quick and affordable,” said Ken Caldwell, vice president of development for Your Pie.

Founded in 2008, the Athens, Georgia-based franchise has 40 locations in 13 states and an additional 50 locations currently in development. The chain was named in Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2016 Franchise 500 as a top 10 franchise opportunity.

O’Malley said that the ability for everyone in the family to order what they want is part of what attracted her to the business.

“I just thought this was such a phenomenal idea and the direction that the pizza industry really needs to go,” O’Malley said. “We’re very excited to bring it to the Wilmington market.”

In addition to handcrafted pizza, Your Pie also serves panini, salads, homemade gelato and craft beer and wine, and the menu includes both vegan and gluten-free options.

The Wilmington location will seat 75 to 80 guests and have an outdoor patio. A late fall opening is expected.
