Following the closure of its downtown location in February, The Greeks Authentic Mediterranean Deli has reopened in Monkey Junction.

“We have always wanted to get back to this part of town,” said Yanni Papanikolaou, who operates the Greeks with his parents and sister. “Many of our former downtown customers live in this area and we have been steady since the doors opened last Thursday.”

The Greeks operated just south of Monkey Junction in the Beau Rivage Shopping Center from late 2013 to early 2015 before an unsuccessful lease negotiation forced them to close the doors.

The Greeks offers traditional Greek fare such as souvlaki, gyro and falafel sandwiches and platters, as well as soups, salads and appetizers such as spanakopita, dolma, hummus and tzatziki.

The yellow walls and red tables are a departure from the traditional blue and white décor of many Greek restaurants. The space seats approximately 40 guests and carry out is always available.

The Greeks is located at 5120 S. College Road, Suite 107 and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
