Nothing Bundt Cakes, a national franchise specializing in uniquely decorated Bundt cakes, is now open in Wilmington at 1437 Military Cutoff Road, in the Progress Point office and commercial center anchored by CVS and PT’s Grille.
 
Nothing Bundt Cakes makes Bundt cakes only, in a variety of different flavors and sizes, all made with natural ingredients. There are plenty of pre-designed cakes to choose from and custom orders are also welcome. Each cake comes with creative decorations and packaging that fits the theme or occasion.
 
“Nothing Bundt Cakes offers a delicious, old-fashioned product that is designed to make people’s day,” co-owner Cat Marinich said. “They focus on just cakes and simple gift items. They do it really well.”
 
Marinich said she and her husband Greg were drawn to the business because of the quality of the products and the company’s business model. Following Greg’s retirement from the military, the couple longed to open a business that they could run together – the one caveat being that it had to be something fun.
 
“To be honest, I never envisioned us owning a bakery,” Cat Marinich said, “but this is such a happy business that it just fit our personalities.”
 
Nothing Bundt Cakes offers cakes in several flavors and sizes, ranging from 8-inch cakes, which serves 8-10 people, to 10-inch cakes, which serves 18-20, and tiered cakes that serve up to 30. There are also single serve bundtlets and bite-sized bundtinis, which are sold by the dozen. All of the cakes are topped with the bakery’s signature frosting made from cream cheese and butter.
 
The shop also carries a small line of retail gifts such as cards, party supplies and tableware.
