Literacy Council Says Aloha To The Holidays With 12 Tastes

The 4th annual 12 Tastes of Christmas will be hosted by the Cape Fear Literacy Council on Dec. 9 at the Brooklyn Arts Center, 516 N. Fourth St.

The holiday tasting party benefits adult literacy in the Cape Fear area while showcasing bites and sips from local eateries, breweries and bars.
 
With this year’s theme of “Retro-Tiki Holidays,” guests can expect a tropical vibe to ring in the spirit of the season.
 
The 12 food and drink pairings will be provided by repeat favorites including Beer Barrio, Boombalatti's, Caprice Bistro, Delish NC, Flytrap Brewing, Folks Café, Goat & Compass, Port City Java, Soulful Twist, The Blind Elephant and Wilmington Brewing Company.

Newcomers this year include Dram + Morsel, JohnnyLukes KitchenBar, Mission BBQ, Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar, Port City Farmers Market Kitchen, The District Kitchen & Cocktails, Wake N Bake Donuts, Dead Crow Comedy Room, Waterline Brewing and The Reel Café.
 
DJ Free Waterfall will be spinning live music throughout the evening. The event is 21+ and VIP early entry (7 p.m.) tickets are $50 and general admission tickets are $30 (7:30 p.m.). Find full details about the event on the 12 Tastes web page
