Greenlands Farm Hosts 'A Taste Of The Holidays'

This Saturday, Greenlands Farm in Bolivia will host A Taste of the Holidays-Holiday Food & Libation Tastings on the farm.

From 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. visitors can sample holiday food and beverages in anticipation of the coming season. For $3 for the food tasting and $5 for food paired with holiday beer and wine selections, customers can begin to plan their holiday meals. Customers can also take advantage of case and half-case discounts on wine and ten percent off beer packs.

Items included in the tasting include holiday pies (chocolate, apple port, pumpkin, and sweet potato), Greenlands Farm's fruitcake made with organic persimmons and organic dried fruits from the farm, holiday cakes (Moravian sugar cakes, sweet potato cakes with maple syrup), whole wheat persimmon rolls with sweet potato butter, sweet potato soup with cranberry drizzle, stuffing with farm herbs and white wine and a smoked salmon and caper cream cheese appetizer.

For those who like to do the holiday baking themselves, Greenlands offers farm- fresh milk (grass fed, hormone/antibiotic free), farm-fresh eggs (free range, hormone/antibiotic free), organic flours and sugar and honey from their own bees.
Other holiday specialties that will be offered this season are homemade Greenlands Farm scuppernong jelly and pear chutney, organic orange spiced tea and fresh and dried persimmons.

Greenlands is also taking orders for beef, Heritage pork and chicken (all hormone/antibiotic free, North Carolina raised), as well as organic turkey sausage, turkey, pheasant, ham and lamb. The farm is located at 668 Midway Road Southeast in Bolivia.
