Tea in many forms will come to The Forum later this month, as two of Fuzzy Peach's originators brew up a different eatery concept.

Tama Tea, currently under construction at 1127 Military Cutoff Road, Suite C, will include a café that serves 50-plus loose-leaf teas to be drunk hot or cold, as well as specialty tea drinks. The café will also serve wraps, salads and quiche.

The retail area will feature a tea wall with loose-leaf teas organized by flavor. Also for sale are teapots and tea ware. Tama is offering special promotional deals on its website, TamaTea.com, from now until opening day.

Kelly and Wells Struble, and partner Rocco Quaranto, feel the timing is right to bring a specialty tea café to Wilmington. Quaranto credits Kelly Struble with the vision behind Tama Tea.

Struble's husband, Wells, along with Quaranto, were friends at University of North Carolina Wilmington and formed two-thirds of the Fuzzy Peach frozen yogurt partnership. Wells Struble and Quaranto bring their combined business and franchise experience to the table.

“This is a concept that has been four years in the making,” Quaranto said. "Now we feel we have the perfect location to provide the experience we want to create.”
