Spicoli Puts New Spin On The Classic Pizza Parlor

Josh Novicki, along with partner Jason Davis, is announcing the launch of a new restaurant, Spicoli.

Novicki, who co-owns Pembroke’s and Rx Restaurant and Bar with James Doss, says Spicoli will be a pizza and burger joint with a fresh take on these classics. Think of it as modern pizza parlor with old-school video games and a bar stocked with craft beer and cocktails.

The eatery is headed for Lumina Commons space once occupied by Incredible Pizza and most recently by Bessie and Giuseppe, and it has undergone yet another transformation. The sleek black and white interior is now adorned with surfing and skateboarding memorabilia. Novicki says he’s curious to see how customers respond to the restaurant’s name. For those who don’t immediately think of a certain character from a 1980’s cult classic, well…you’ll have to ask Novicki himself.

Novicki says the menu will feature several specialty pizzas that change seasonally as well as pizza with a wide variety of traditional pizza toppings. Sandwiches, burgers and wings will round out the menu.

Unlike some of the previous restaurants occupying this space, Spicoli will cater to the late night crowd. The restaurant will be open and offer delivery until 2 a.m. daily.  A 45-seat patio will be open late as well.

Novicki and Davis anticipate a late-July opening.
