Slainte Irish Pub has opened a new Monkey Junction location offering a full menu of both traditional Irish fare and American classics. Located at the Village at Myrtle Grove shopping center, 5511 Carolina Beach Road, Slainte is one of several eateries within the center that is also home to Firebelly Restaurant & Lounge, Hot Pink Cake Stand and Michaelangelo’s Pizza, among others.

Appetizers include curry and chips, French fries served with a creamy curry sauce; Irish soda puppies, deep fried Irish soda bread served with honey butter; and an Irish poutine, hand-cut fries topped with Guinness gravy and cheddar cheese. Entrées include Irish favorites such as steak and Guinness pie, corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie. Classic pub food such as build-your-own burgers and chicken sandwiches and cheesesteaks are also available.

The 3,400-square-foot space has a large bar as well as a variety of booths and tables. There is a covered outdoor patio with additional seating and a full bar. There are five Irish beers on tap as well as two by the bottle and a large selection of Irish whisky. A large selection of craft beer is available on tap.

Slainte also has two other locations in the Cape Fear region: 7 N. Front St. in downtown Wilmington and 1513 N. Howe St., No. 10, in Southport.
