The local recreation center and restaurant formerly known as Courts and Sports celebrated a grand reopening earlier this month under the new name Dig and Dive. The rebranding comes as the company looks to pursue future franchise opportunities, according to general manager Kelly Reynolds.

The facility has undergone a full interior remodel. There are new booths and tables throughout, as well as a new 20-tap, copper-top bar and a lounge area with sofas and large screen televisions. The outside tiki bar also has new furniture and new nets and fencing have been made to the volleyball courts.

There have been significant changes to the menu as well, according to Reynolds. About half of the menu items are now made with local or North Carolina-sourced products.

“We really wanted to reinvent our menu to include an emphasis on locally sourced, well-prepared food,” Reynolds said. “We’re using better products and the result is better tasting, more refined, gastro-pub style food.”

The bar now serves 17 North Carolina craft beers and 80 different beers in all. The wine list has also been expanded.

While the complex is known as a destination for volleyball, bocce, dodgeball and cornhole, live acoustic music will soon be added to that list.

“Historically we’ve been known as a college bar,” Reynolds said. “But it’s our hope that now we will appeal to a fun, family-friendly crowd as well.”
