Clean Eatz, a café designed to take the guesswork out of healthy eating, is turning two this month. In celebration of the café’s second anniversary, owners Don Varady and Evonne White have a festival of food, fitness and wellness planned for Saturday, March 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Blue Moon Shops on Racine Drive.

There will be kickboxing, Pilates and CrossFit demonstrations throughout the day as well as free massages from local massage therapists and a bouncy house for the kids. Clean Eatz will be serving $2.00 Turkey Burgers in honor of its second anniversary.

“The support that we’ve received here in Wilmington has been really overwhelming,” said White. “We’ve had so many great success stories in just two years. We have about six people we’ve worked with who have lost over 50 pounds and some of them have even gotten off of their medications. We never dreamed when we moved here that we’d have this kind of impact.”

In addition to a wide variety of meals prepared fresh each day in the café, Clean Eatz customers also have access to packaged meal plans. New menus come out each Thursday, and customers can customize their menus for pick-up the following Monday.

The goal of the packaged meal plans is to provide customers with properly portioned meals with the right balance of protein, carbs and fats. Every low-sodium meal has less than 500 calories and 10 grams of fat.

“With so little time for shopping and cooking, our menu and the packaged meals really help keep people on track,” said White. “So often we have good intentions but if there’s not a healthy option within reach we end up making poor choices.”

Clean Eatz is located at the Blue Moon Shops building, 203 Racine Drive.
