Tropical Smoothie Café, 2804 S. College Road, is offering a fall menu featuring Savory Island Clubs as well as limited-time-only smoothies as part of its Naughty or Nice promotion.

The Savory Island Clubs both include turkey. One comes with bacon, cheddar, spinach and a chipotle cranberry sauce, and the other pairs the turkey with bacon, cheddar, gorgonzola, apple-kale slaw and Dijon honey mustard. Both are served on a toasted wheat bread made with flax as well as sunflower and chia seeds.

Brandon Korman, owner of Tropical Smoothie Café at Long Leaf Mall, said his location was the No. 2  seller of Island Clubs in the country for the first week in November. His location also ranked No. 5 in the country that week for overall sales.

“The community has really opened up to us, and we feel that we’ve been extremely successful throughout the past four months,” Korman said.

Korman and his wife, Deena, opened the franchise in July. From the start it has been their intent to connect with the community by taking part in fundraisers for local groups. They’ve worked with the YWCA, Hoggard High School and University of North Carolina Wilmington, and now through Christmas the Kormans will be taking part in Toys for Tots.

“We will be a drop-off location for Toys for Tots,” Brandon Korman. Customers who bring in a new, unwrapped gift will receive 50 percent off any 24-ounce smoothie.

The four seasonal smoothies come in two categories: naughty or nice. On the naughty side, there is a Pumpkin Pie smoothie with pumpkin, cinnamon, Ghirardelli White Frappe and nonfat yogurt as well as a Cranberry Truffle with strawberries, cranberries, Ghirardelli White Frappe and nonfat yogurt. On the nice side, there’s a Peaches and Pumpkin Spice with peaches, pumpkin, goji, cinnamon and nonfat yogurt and a Very Berry Cranberry with strawberries and cranberries.
