Ladyfingers Caterers, a fixture in the Raleigh area for nearly 30 years, is now offering frozen meals and appetizers at Blue Moon Shops on Racine Drive.

When David and Tudi Jackson took over Ladyfingers in 2013, they began looking for ways to expand the business. Tudi, who had managed the operation for ten years prior to taking over as owner, knew that the company had developed a loyal following throughout the state.

Ladyfingers is not only a full-service caterer, but it also operates a retail store in Raleigh offering a variety of prepared foods such as soups, salads and casseroles. Jackson realized that many customers were traveling from all across the state to fill their coolers with prepared foods to take home or on vacation.

When approached by a Greensboro retailer who was interested in selling Ladyfingers' frozen meals out of her shop, Jackson decided to give it a try. It was so successful that Ladyfingers has now partnered with eight locations across the state, with two more in the works.

Chef Emily Coury, a Wilmington native, prepares all of the meals using fresh ingredients and without preservatives. The items selected for sale at Blue Moon are the caterer’s eight best sellers in Raleigh. They include dishes such as enchiladas, lasagnas, creole soup, and Ladyfingers’ signature item: Ham Rolls.

Coury felt that Blue Moon Shops were the perfect location to set up shop in Wilmington. Ladyfingers opened there this spring.

“The response has been wonderful,” said Blue Moon owner Mary Ann Masucci. “So many of our customers have told us that they’re so happy to see Ladyfingers here in Wilmington.”

“The Wilmington location has done exceedingly well, already selling more than any of the other locations,” said wholesale manager Justin Williams. “We’ve been extremely happy with this partnership.”

Blue Moon Shops are located at 203 Racine Drive in Wilmington.
