Clifton Cheek of Resort Brokerage and Consulting, Inc. was selected to participate in the 2016 Leadership Academy class for the N.C. Association of Realtors (NCAR).

“The NCAR Leadership Academy seeks to identify local Realtor leaders and prepare them for future volunteer positions within the community and the industry,” his company's announcement news release stated. “The program provides a unique participatory experience that cultivates leadership, creativity, ethical decision making, self-reflection and relationship building among the participants.”

Cheek currently serves as a board member for the Brunswick County Association of Realtors (BCAR), chairs BCAR’s MLS committee and is president of the newly formed N.C. Regional MLS, which encompasses nine associations along the coastal region of North Carolina.

Recently selected as a Future 10 young professional to watch by South Brunswick Magazine, Cheek is also a board member of the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Chamber’s Business Development Committee.

Wilkinson ERA agents honored

Six Wilkinson ERA Real Estate agents were inducted into the ERA Circle of Honor for 2015, the company announced recently.

Agency owner Fred Gainey said the Circle of Honor recognition is for individuals who achieve 25 total awards units or $50,000 in AGC.

The Wilkinson ERA honorees are Greg Lindsay, Gloria Green, Chuck Carter, Karen Holden, Brian Walsh and Elaine DeLise.

Riley, Coupland earn designation
 
Two vice presidents with Cape Fear Commercial LLC, Patrick Riley (left) and Howard Coupland (right), recently earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, the company announced in a news release.

“With this new designation, Mr. Riley and Mr. Coupland are now officially recognized as experts in the commercial and investment real estate industry,” the release stated, adding that Riley and Coupland join Cape Fear Commercial colleague Paul Loukas, senior vice president, as a CCIM designee.

The CCIM Institute is taught by “experienced and successful commercial real estate practitioners,” the release stated.  “By combining the best minds to develop and teach the industry’s best practices, CCIM has helped thousands of students propel their careers and grow their businesses. Since 1954, CCIM has evolved into a global organization with more than 13,000 members.”

Based in Wilmington, Cape Fear Commercial is a full-service commercial real estate advisory firm.

Sweyer & Associates wins platinum
 
Century 21 Sweyer & Associates has been named a Platinum Award winner by the Cartus Broker Network for its outstanding performance during the past year, the company announced recently. Cartus Corporation is a global employee relocation solutions firm.

Platinum is the highest level of the Excellence Awards presented to principal brokers, according to a news release. The recognition is based on performance results related to a wide variety of goals including customer service, cost management, and effective analysis and marketing of homes. Less than 35 percent of Cartus Broker Network’s principal brokers achieved Platinum level recognition for their performance in 2015.

“Receiving a Platinum Award is a high honor, and something that we worked for consistently throughout 2015,” Jeff Sweyer, owner of Century 21 Sweyer & Associates, said in the release. “Our entire staff has put a committed effort into achieving the best results for Cartus, their clients and transferring employees, and our brokerage. I applaud them and thank them for their efforts.”
