August Home Sales Numbers Increase In Brunswick County

The number of homes sold in Brunswick County in August rose slightly over last year, up 4 percent compared to August 2015, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Brunswick County Association of Realtors.

The figures, compiled by BCAR from the N.C. Regional MLS for all of Brunswick County, show 392 single family residence sales in August this year, 377 during the same month last year.  In July, the number of homes sold had dropped by 14.5 percent compared to July 2015.

The average sales price was up 13.7 percent from last year, and the total sales volume in August increased 10.9 percent over the same period in 2015, a BCAR news release said. 
 
The August numbers also show a  higher sales volume than the previous month, about $101 million in August versus $83.8 million in
July, a 17.1 percent increase, according to BCAR. 

“Brunswick County’s real estate market remained consistent throughout the summer months,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “Our market is in strong shape as we head into fall.”
