A second Wilmington location of Club Pilates, a national Pilates franchise, is opening this month at The Pointe at Barclay.
The studio, at 1407 Barclay Pointe Blvd., Suite 403, will offer members reformer-based, total body workouts that help with posture, balance, flexibility and strength, according to a news release. A reformer is a piece of exercise equipment.
The Wilmington South Club Pilates location is owned by Mindy and Steve Agnoff, longtime Wilmington residents and local business owners. They opened their first Club Pilates in August 2017 at The Forum, 1121-F Military Cutoff Road.
The Agnoffs said in a release that their "light and bright studio" at The Pointe, set to open April 27, will welcome members into an "inspiring atmosphere," where they can choose from dozens of group classes that use a variety of equipment, including reformers, EXO chairs, TRX, springboard and Barre.
“We are overwhelmed with the positive response of our first studio,” said Mindy Agnoff in the release. “It is a natural fit for our coastal community, where health and fitness play a major role in our daily lives. Club Pilates is a well-established nationwide brand, committed to providing affordable and accessible Pilates.”
The Agnoffs have owned businesses in the Wilmington area in the past. Mindy Agnoff is the former owner of Mindy & Angie's Fine Paper, a stationery and invitation boutique, and Steve Agnoff is the former owner of Fenner Drives, a local manufacturing plant.
Club Pilates has more than 600 locations in 45 states. The Agnoffs are holding the last of their tent events offering savings on memberships Friday and Saturday, with more information available on their Facebook page and business website.
