Restoration And Clean-up Firm Purchases Brunswick County Property

By Cece Nunn, posted Nov 30, 2017
A fire and water clean-up and restoration firm recently purchased property to expand its footprint in Brunswick County.

SERVPRO of Brunswick and South Columbus counties paid $435,000 in October for about 5 acres and a 5,000-square-foot industrial building at 1409 Ocean Highway between Supply and Shallotte. The company has already moved into and is fully operational within the newly acquired building, according to a news release.

Davis Thompson, owner of the SERVPRO of New Hanover County and SERVPRO of Brunswick and South Columbus counties, said his previous Brunswick County location on Old Whiteville Road in Shalotte was 2,500 square feet.

"It’s twice the size to improve operations," Thompson said Thursday. "We doubled our warehouse space."

In total, his franchises have about 20 to 25 employees. Much of their work involves mishaps such as busted pipes and leaky water heaters, Thompson said.

Hill Rogers, broker in charge of Cameron Management, represented SERVPRO of Brunswick and South Columbus counties in the purchase of the new location.

“This is a great property for the SERVPRO franchise. It provides great visibility and access from Highway 17 and ample land for future expansion. This location will add value to an already outstanding brand and operation,” Rogers said in the release.

Wayne Durham, broker with Sloan Commercial Real Estate, represented the seller, Ameron Inc.
