New Podiatry Clinic Opens, More New Tenants On Way To Monkey Junction Center

A Monkey Junction shopping center has a new tenant, and more businesses are on the way, brokers said this week.

Noah Foot and Ankle, a new podiatry practice owned and operated by Nicholas Noah, opened Monday in a 1,350-square-foot space at the center, 5226 S. College Road, according to a news release.

“We are very excited to be able to bring comprehensive podiatric care to this part of the community," Noah said in the release. "We use a cloud-based electronic medical record system, which makes it very easy and convenient for patients to transfer their care into our practice. And our X-ray and computer technologies are all state-of-the-art, which allows us to generate results quickly and share images with patients so they more fully understand the nature of their care.”

His practice will offer comprehensive foot and ankle care for all ages, including reconstructive surgery and wound care, according to the release. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor's degree in biology, earning his podiatry degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Noah completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a surgical residency in Oklahoma City. A native of Graham, North Carolina, Noah practiced podiatry for several years in Chicago and Pinehurst before relocating to Wilmington, the release stated.                 

More openings are on the way to the center, including a potential tenant for the former Giorgio's Italian Restaurant space, a longtime Wilmington eatery that closed in January. 

"We are working with other prospects to fill three other units in the center that will be very complementary to the current tenant mix," said Allan Fox, one of the brokers with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast who have worked on negotiating recent leases at the property, owned by ZA Sneeden LLC.

Fox and broker Don Harley of CBCS represented the landlord while two other Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast brokers, Mark Johnson and Janet Rose, represented Noah Foot and Ankle and an upcoming restaurant, Beach Bagels, in recent leases.

Beach Bagels, a cafe serving breakfast and lunch daily, is expected to open in 2,000 square feet at the center by the end of the year.

The 40,000-square-foot shopping center is located at the intersection of College and Carolina Beach roads in Monkey Junction, and other current tenants include Cape Fear Seafood Company, PetSmart, Fairy Circle and Vintage Values.

“This retail center is within easy reach of the southern beaches and all of the new development taking place at River Lights,” said Harley, who is also a partner with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast, in the news release. “Our tenants have great visibility, plenty of parking and are just next door to a wide variety of complementary businesses. We think we’re going to see a lot of additional leasing activity in this center and throughout the Monkey Junction area to meet the growing demand for services in southern New Hanover County.”
