Two national brands will join the lineup at a new Brunswick County shopping center, a broker announced this week.

Pet Supplies Plus and Spectrum Paints have signed leases for space in Midway Commons Shopping Center, anchored by a Lowes Foods grocery store, at the intersection of Midway Road and N.C. 211.

The pet supplies store will occupy about 7,400 square feet, and Spectrum Paints will welcome customers in a 3,000 square foot space in the center.

“With the recent successful opening of Lowes Foods, we expect our momentum to continue with the  increase of interest in leasing and outparcel sales," said Bryce Morrison Jr., leasing and sales agent for the center and a broker with Wilmington-based Cape Fear Commercial.

Lowes held the grand opening of the company's 45,720-square-foot Midway Commons store on May 21, and has experienced an "extraordinary response from the market" with a higher-than-expected volume of shoppers visiting the store each week, according to a Cape Fear Commercial news release.

In addition to the grocery store, Lowes has also opened a fuel station located in front of the shopping center.

Other tenants at the center include Wok n' Roll restaurant, Bozart Family Dentistry, Falcones Italian Restaurant, Great Clips and a nail salon.

The Great Clips and nail salon are already open for business, and the other leased space has been turned over to tenants for upfitting. He said all of the businesses currently leasing space are expected to be open by the end of the summer.

The Pet Supply Plus and Spectrum Paints leases and other current tenants have leased 21,000 of the 44,596 square feet of retail space available in the center, Morrison said.
