Builder To Start On New Dental Facility In Surf City

By Cece Nunn, posted Nov 6, 2015
A dental practice in Surf City plans to break ground Monday on a new facility off U.S. 17, according to a recent news release.

The release from Surf City Dental described the practice's new facility as "state of the art," and said the new building will be on Wilkes Lane at N.C. 210, just off U.S. 17 in front of the Lowe's Home Improvement store in Surf City.

The facility is expected to be complete by the summer of 2016, according to the release.

“Because of the growth of the practice and the demand for cutting edge practices and procedures, we find ourselves in need of a new, updated facility with more space and capabilities to serve our new and existing patients,” said Matt Parr, a dentist who has owned Surf City Dental since 2013, in the news release. “With the additional space and equipment, we are excited to be able to better serve our patients, especially parents with children who have a difficult time scheduling visits.

Local architect Mark Loudermilk of Becker Morgan Group designed the new facility, and local contractor Yates Chambliss, of Chambliss & Rabil, will be responsible for the development of the building, according to the release.

"Supporting the community that supports us is critical to our business," Parr said in the release. "That's why we are trying to have all aspects of the new building handled by local businesses. Without the support of our community, the building of the facility would not be possible, so we want to do everything we can in return to benefit them."

Community members are invited to attend the groundbreaking, scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday on the future site of Surf City Dental. The practice's current location is 13500 N.C. 50, Suite 104, in Surf City.
