A local chiropractor is moving his practice from Lumina Station to The Forum on Saturday.

King Chiropractic, a practice specializing in soft tissue work, pain relief and improving athletic performance, is leasing office and treatment space inside Accent Physical Therapy in Suite A of the boutique shopping center at 1115 Military Cutoff Road, according to a news release from the practice.

The release said the move, spurred by continued growth of the practice for the past five years, is expected "to provide many benefits to existing and future patients such as larger treatment rooms, additional treatment rooms, an office manager on site, better parking and more amenities for patients, including a room designated for group fitness classes."

Rhett King, owner and principal chiropractor at King Chiropractic, said The Forum space offers first-floor access. His practice was on the third floor at Lumina Station.

King said in the release that his practice focuses heavily on helping athletes heal and improve their overall performance. "It will be convenient and beneficial for patients that may need both chiropractic care and physical therapy,” he said.

A native of Wilmington who started practicing in 2007, King is also the founder and administrator of the Wilmington Health Nuts, a meet-up group dedicated to health and exercise.

King said Thursday that he expects the new location to be open by Monday.
