A local real estate agent has reached a major milestone, according to a news release this week.

Since joining Intracoastal Realty in 1993, Keith Beatty has closed more than 4,000 properties totaling more than $1 billion in sales, the release said.

"To reach $1 billion in sales is rarified air,” said Intracoastal Realty CEO Jim Wallace in the release.  “It is a milestone achieved only through commitment, service, and perseverance.  Keith believes in working hard, and playing hard.  We are extremely proud to have him on the Intracoastal Realty team.”

Beatty’s career includes years of breaking his own sales records and ranking as the company's No. 1 agent in 2015, the release said.

He specializes in single family homes, condos, townhouses, land, and waterfront properties in the Wilmington area, the release said.  He also represents custom builders and developers on some of their projects, and has served as an exclusive broker for numerous new home communities.

“I give all the credit for this accomplishment to hard-working agents on my team including Drew Pittman, who has been my co-team leader for 13 years,” Beatty said in the release.  “No one individual can achieve this milestone. It has been a collective effort from my team, the management and staff of Intracoastal, all the builders we have worked with and most importantly the thousands of buyers and sellers we have been fortunate enough to represent.”

In 2015, the release said, Beatty closed 330 units totaling more than $95 million in sales.

According to the release, Beatty regularly has been recognized "for his superior sales and marketing," including honors from RealTrends Magazine and the Wall Street Journal as one of the top real estate professionals (ranked as high as No. 27) in the United States.  Beatty was also a recipient of a Lifetime Marketing Achievement Award from the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association.

“With Keith, teamwork is not just a catch-word, it is a way of life,” Wallace said in the release.  “He always makes himself available to his fellow agents and staff, and is eager to share his expertise and experience on any subject.  Keith believes in giving back to the community and has always served on boards and committees that need help in our city."
