Editor's Note: This version updates the expected opening month of Palmetto Moon at Mayfaire Town Center.

Two new retailers will be joining the lineup at Mayfaire Town Center, leasing space in buildings that are currently under construction in the bustling shopping center's latest phase.

H&M, a growing, international clothing store that sells products for men, women and children, is expected to open in a new, two-story, 24,000-square-foot space in spring 2017, said Paige Somervell, Mayfaire's marketing director and specialty leasing manager, on Tuesday.

Another store, Palmetto Moon, is expected to open in 6,000 square feet of new space in October, a company official said. The Charleston, South Carolina-based retailer sells "Southern lifestyle" clothing, accessories and gifts, carrying brands such as Yeti, Simply Southern, Columbia, Southern Marsh, Scout and Lilly Pulitzer, among other well-known brands, according to Palmetto Moon's website and Facebook page.

The Mayfaire store will be Palmetto Moon's 11th location.

"We are elated about the expansion and opportunity to introduce these new retail names to the market," Somervell said in an email. "The expansion is an exciting opportunity for CBL & Associates Properties to continue its vested interest in New Hanover County. We’re looking forward to being able to provide an enhanced shopping and dining experience for our community."

Site plans were submitted for Mayfaire Town Center's next retail phase, about 90,000 square feet in seven buildings, at the end of 2015.

The plans initially were labled with the names of specific retailers, including H&M; plus-size clothing store Lane Bryant; Hot Topic, which sells music- and pop culture-themed fashions and accessories; Torrid, which sells lingerie; furniture store West Elm; and West Marine, which offers boating accessories and parts, boating-related apparel and fishing supplies.

So far, H&M and Palmetto Moon are the first confirmed tenants of the new space. Somervell said additional tenants are expected to be announced as the expansion moves forward.
