Local commercial real estate company Cape Fear Commercial recently opened a new division to address a growing investment client base.

The company hired Will Purvis to be the managing director of CFC Equity Capital Management LLC.

“Will is very talented and shares the same disciplined investment philosophy that is one of the core principles of our firm’s capital management division,” said Brian Eckel, co-founding partner of Cape Fear Commercial in a press release. “We are answering the call of our investment clients.”

Purvis said, “We are fairly confident that the market’s financial distress will begin to create exceptional opportunities to make investments.”

Cape Fear Commercial’s management portfolio is more than 1.3 million square feet, according to the release.
