Judy Girard, former president of HGTV and the Food Network, will announce what a news release from Young Women Leading Inc. calls an “important news impacting education in New Hanover County” as part of her remarks at Thursday’s Power Breakfast at the Wilmington Convention Center.
The Power Breakfast is a quarterly event presented by the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.
Girard, who now lives in the Wilmington area and is vice chairwoman of Young Women Leading, is one of five speakers who will give TED-type talks at the business breakfast event on a variety of timely issues. She will focus on women’s leadership.
Georgia Nix Miller, chairwoman of Young Women Leading, was not available for comment Wednesday afternoon on the nature of Girard’s announcement.
Young Women Leading Inc. filed state incorporation papers in July as a nonprofit, according to the N.C. Secretary of State's office.
