Wilmington-based Intracoastal Realty inducted three new members into the board of directors for its Teacher’s Fund.
The new inductees are Maria Greene, principal of College Park Elementary School; Constance Lamar, second grade teacher at Winter Park Elementary School; and Susan Paulson, an Intracoastal Realty agent.
The Teacher’s Fund is a nonprofit group started in 2005 by Intracoastal Realty CEO Jim Wallace. Its mission is to raise funds and distribute grants to local teachers to assist them in purchasing books and school supplies for their classrooms.
The fund focuses on public and private schools in New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. Since 2005, it has raised more than $225,000 and distributed more than 900 grants.
The Teacher’s Fund board of directors is made up of five members: two educators, an Intracoastal Realty agent, Wallace and executive assistant Kristie Phillips. The board holds monthly meetings to review applications for grants and select recipients.
