Week Events: Legislative Caucus, Workplace Diversity And More

Monday:
Legislators representing New Hanover County will meet with local lawmakers at a legislative caucus meeting to discuss issues at the General Assembly. The meeting is 9 a.m. at city hall, 102 N. Third St.

Wednesday:
The University of North Carolina Wilmington hosts an all-day conference about diversity in the workplace. The conference opens at 8 a.m. and includes panels with representatives from Verizon Wireless, Duke Energy and GE-Hitachi. For more info, go to www.uncw.edu/diversity.

Speaker Joe Minicozzi will give an analysis of New Hanover County’s land use and its return on investment for taxpayers at Wilmington Downtown Inc.’s downtown economic series lunch at the Wilmington Convention Center. For more information, go to www.wilmingtondowntown.com.

The Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Award Program recognizes five regional projects that demonstrate environmental stewardship during the 8th annual Lower Cape Fear Stewardship Development Awards Luncheon. There also will be a workshop featuring presentations and interactive conversations on smart site planning, native landscaping and collaborating for sustainable and successful development projects.
