Ready To Go Global? Entrepreneurship Center Hosts Event To Help

By Staff Reports, posted Mar 29, 2011

Thursday evening the University of North Carolina Wilmington Entrepreneurship Center will host an event to explain the process and advantages of conducting international business. The event is co-sponsored by the North Carolina World Trade Association and the U.S. Commerce Department.

“Selling products and services in an international marketplace can seem like a challenging process, especially for small businesses,” said UNCW Entrepreneurship Center Director Jonathan Rowe in a release. “That is why we created this event to provide the experts and tools to reduce those challenges and create growth opportunities for our region’s entrepreneurs.”

The event is free and will be set up like a trade show. International business experts will work booths and offer information on many aspects that present challenges to global trade. There will be booths to represent industries like shipping, legal, marketing, banking and more.

Experts scheduled to participate Thursday night include Sandra Edwards, Director, U.S. Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration, Ron Reighter, Vice President, Global Trade Solutions, Sun Trust Bank, Ed Mondello, Founder and CEO, Glide Bikes, Randy Swartz, Founder and CEO, Chemtex, and Kevin Hicks, Business Development Director and Marshall Fellow, RBC Bank amongst others.
