Two local companies have joined forces to buy a longtime Wilmington publication.

Jenna Curry, owner of Wilmington-based Remedy Digital Agency, and Justin Williams, owner and founder of Leland-based Carolina Marketing Co., bought Wilmington Today for an undisclosed amount from Tom and Hazel Jones.

Wilmington Today is a hardbound guidebook published yearly for visitors and newcomers in the Wilmington area, including Topsail Island and Brunswick County. The book, which has been around for more than three decades, can be found in hotel rooms, vacation rentals and businesses throughout the region.

When the Joneses were preparing to retire, they offered Wilmington Today to Curry to purchase. She had worked with them to rebuild Wilmington Today's website and manage its social media campaigns and new digital content.

"Having been in the digital space for so long, I knew I needed a really solid print partner," said Curry, who is also the owner of Port City Young Professionals LLC (PCYP). "Justin and I have been friends for three years and we worked together on one other project for Port City Young Professionals. He helped me put on the first ever Port City Young Professionals Leland edition ... I was just really impressed with how professional he was and how organized and how he handled the entire thing."

Williams' Carolina Marketing Co. publishes North Brunswick Magazine, South Brunswick Magazine, NorthBrunswickMagazine.com, SouthBrunswickMagazine.com and Discovery Maps of Wilmington and Brunswick County.

Wilmington Today will be published by High Tide Media LLC, the legal partnership formed between Curry and Williams.

"It's really kind of a perfect addition to both of our portfolios, if you will, being an extension into Wilmington for him" and because of Curry's association with PCYP as owner and administrator of the PCYP networking group, Curry said.

Wilmington Today highlights local restaurants, shops and things to do in the area and also offers maps, directories and relocation information, along with local advertisements. The 2018-19 edition is expected to be available in May.

"I feel like we're strong from the print side of things," Williams said of Carolina Marketing Co., "and Jenna's really strong on the digital side of things. I think those two combined is a really good fit in terms of taking [Wilmington Today] to the next level."
