A new market that's been popping up around town over the past few months, the iLm Local Makers & Growers Market is a local co-op of artisans, growers, printers, painters, bakers and builders that have come together to sell their goods at various locations thought the city.

The goal, according to organizers, is to provide the Wilmington area with high-quality weekly markets, pop-ups, and seasonal shopping events featuring locally made and locally grown items.

The group is currently hosting two recurring markets in the city: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at The Brewer’s Kettle, 4718 Oleander Drive, and the same time Thursdays at Waterline Brewing Co.,  721 Surry St.

“It’s been great to see some new faces since we’ve started hosting the market,” said Brewer’s Kettle owner Stephen Henson. “They’re a really great group of people to work with and the market seems to be growing and becoming more consistent each week.”

Henson said that he likes the idea of sharing his space with local growers and artisans because it’s mutually beneficial.

The pop-up markets offer produce, meats, eggs, baked goods and a variety of naturally made products. There are often food trucks and live music on site, making the market a communal gathering space as well as an opportunity for commerce.

In addition to the weekly markets at Brewer’s Kettle and Waterline, other pop-ups currently scheduled include Good Hops Brewing, 811 Harper Ave. in Carolina Beach on Friday, March 9 from 4-8 p.m. and Brooklyn Café, 706 N. Fourth St., on Sunday, March 18.

Applications are now being accepted for vendors for the upcoming season and can be found online.

Tuesday's market at The Brewer's Kettle was canceled because of rainy weather. For updates and a full list of upcoming markets, visit iLm Local Makers & Growers Market on Facebook
