My Vision: For You

Sponsored Content provided by Laura Bransfield - Owner, Summerfield Custom Wellness

Creating a company’s mission and vision statements is harder than you think. Encapsulating all you hope to instill in your patrons, all your wishes for them, and capturing that essence in one sentence takes real soul searching, probably some coaching and a lot of research. But at the end of the day, wellness entrepreneurs want for our patrons what we wish for ourselves.

Some people may think that dietitians are born with healthy food cravings and amazing body image but that could not be farther from the truth for me. In the introduction video to our online weight loss course, “Reset and Rebalance,” I go into detail about the food struggles I’ve had throughout my life.

Although not overweight in middle school, I started dieting anyway.  I yo-yoed through all the fads, believing if I just had enough willpower, if I could just push myself enough, if I could just cut back a little more, then I could have the body of my dreams.
Then, in my late 20s, after just enough self-discovery to eliminate 90 percent of my body image issues, my health problems started to set in.

I was a dietitian with anemia of an unknown cause. My energy was so low that I had to take naps at lunchtime and chug iced coffee to make it back to work for the afternoon. I pursued many providers who were able to help me in little pieces but not quite able to connect it all.

Thankfully, through my collection of providers across the state and my own nutrition knowledge, I have been able to find some peace and recovery. Many people aren’t as fortunate, and some even feel abandoned by providers unable to help. We never want anyone to feel like that when they are working with our dietitians at Summerfield Custom Wellness.

Our mission is to inspire our patients with confidence and empower them with skills to become the healthy person they envision.

We don’t tell anyone what to do. We let everyone choose their own goals. We believe them. And then we educate them and support them as they inch their way closer to those goals week by week.

Our vision is to create a shift in health-consciousness, where an individual’s healthy choices come automatically and are in sync with their body’s needs.

You probably shouldn’t be doing the exact same thing as your spouse or your neighbor or your sister’s friend’s cousin. We help you figure out what is right for your body. But instead of relying on willpower or forcing yourself to do anything, we help you eliminate all the obstacles in your way so these healthy choices can become automatic. We want you to float through life making healthy choices with ease.
