Not All VoIP Systems Are Alike

Sponsored Content provided by Joey Stone - General Manager and Vice President , Teleco

The business community has finally caught on to what the major telecom providers have known for years; that voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, phones offer tremendous savings over traditional landlines, as well as providing the potential to fully integrate into a richly featured unified communications, or UC, system. Every day, more and more businesses are making the switch to VoIP in an attempt to help their bottom lines and improve the efficiency of their employees.

Unfortunately, some businesses have a negative experience with VoIP when they make the switch, especially if they choose the wrong provider. Some may begin to see reliability issues. They may be paying for expensive proprietary bandwidth that eats away at the cost savings they had hoped to leverage. Their feature set may be less than what they had envisioned.

Luckily, not all VoIP systems are alike. There are systems available that provide unparalleled reliability, cost savings of up to 50 percent, a rich suite of features, and even run off of standard bandwidth that a business is already using. Star2Star Communications, maker of the world’s most-scalable cloud communications solution, really stands out from the crowd.

Star2Star systems run using what the company refers to as “Bring Your Own Bandwidth,” or BYOB. Star2Star solutions will work on the broadband that your company already has in place (provided it is strong enough), meaning that you don’t have to pay for a costly proprietary network connection. Even better, Star2Star takes every precaution to preserve bandwidth, including routing all calls between extensions at a single location to exclusively on-premise and complex two-way traffic shaping procedures.

Star2Star also eliminates the reliability concerns that many VoIP providers suffer from. Star2Star guarantees 99.999 percent uptime and has provided 100 percent uptime since 2011. The company also uses a number of advanced methods to preserve call quality. The same techniques that preserve bandwidth ensure that there is sufficient signal strength for crystal clear voice transmissions. Star2Star’s on-premise StarBox Cloud Connection Manager is in constant communication with the company’s unique Constellation network, allowing Star2Star to monitor Internet pathways and always route calls along the path with the least amount of latency. This prevents issues such as jitter and packet loss from impacting call quality.

What will likely impress your employees most about Star2Star is the set of tools that the system will provide them. Star2Star unifies voice, fax, chat, messaging, conferencing, video, presence management and more into a single, easy-to-use interface. Your employees will only have to learn a single system, with features that save them time, hassle and resources. They will also have far greater mobility with features like Find Me/Follow Me, which automatically routes calls to cell phones and remote phones according to their defined specifications, and the Star2Star SoftPhone, which turns any connected computer into a fully featured Star2Star phone extension.

If you would like to know more about how Star2Star stands out in the crowded field of VoIP and UC providers, contact Teleco of Wilmington, a trusted Star2Star partner.
