JC Lyle

Executive Director, Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (WARM)

As the executive director of WARM, JC Lyle uses technology for everyday life and work tasks such as online banking, shopping, weather and social media as well as to unwind after a day’s work at the rebuilding nonprofit.

Lyle regularly reads WILMA, Salt, The New York Times and Wrightsville Beach Magazine.

“I am visual, so I like magazines with lots of great photos,” she said.

Her favorite websites are any featuring maps, including the American Red Cross’ RCview Site that shows Hurricane Florence impacts and recovery.

“Working in social services can be mentally and emotionally taxing. I want a break from reality when I make time to watch TV, where the good guys win,” Lyle said. “I only do Netflix and Amazon, so things like Supergirl, Blue Bloods, Sherlock, Person of Interest, or political shows such as Madam Secretary, The West Wing and The Crown.”

Enjoys authors Max Lucado, Anne Lamott and Mike Slaughter. “If I read for pleasure, I want to be uplifted and encouraged.”

Recommended local social media accounts include Wilmington, NC-Community (facebook.com/groups/ilmnccommunitygroup) and All Things Dog (facebook.com/groups/ allthingsdogswilmingtonnc)
