Jeremy Tomlinson
President, Cape Fear Craft Beer Alliance

Jeremy Tomlinson’s day job is in the IT field, so technology is paramount in his life. “My day starts on my desktop and then transitions to laptop, iPad and iPhone. I am in the car a lot so SYNC is a lifesaver for phone calls and texts.” But as head of the Cape Fear Craft Beer Alliance and advocate for the local industry, he also turns to brew-related online picks as well.

Periodical preferences, however, run more traditional. “I pretty much only read paper versions of magazines. I am a fan of Devour, Greater Wilmington Business Journal, Salt and Our State. I also publish the Wilmington Ale Trail. So I’m a fan of that.”

When online, he checks out Good Beer Hunting, CraftBeer.com as well as CNN, NPR, TechCrunch, Fast Company, and Task & Purpose, a news site geared toward veterans.

To catch up on North Carolina beer news, he listens to the 919 Beer podcast. For general news: “I pretty much listen to whatever is on NPR during the day. Also [The New York Times’] The Daily for a morning shot of news. I just started Presidential because I like history.”

For TV shows, it’s Game of Thrones “and one of my new favorite shows is Brockmire,” a comedy on IFC starring Hank Azaria and Amanda Peet.

One of his favorite authors is Jeffrey Archer. Currently reading The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer about a German soldier during WWII.

Go-to apps are Audible, Untappd, Instagram, WHQR’s app and Pay-By-Phone for parking around town.

He recommends following @brianleelantz on Instagram for Brian Lantz’s pics on beer and homebrewing to photography and tech.
