At Wilmington-based marketing agency TGK, Andrew Gray programs and builds websites and apps all day. He also uses software to manage his entire team. “At home I read a lot of blogs and listen to podcasts,” says Gray, a former tech columnist for the Business Journal.
Always buys a copy of Wired magazine when he travels – “great content and awesome design.”
While online, reads political news aggregator site memeorandum.com “and Slate, Slashdot and Boing Boing pretty much everyday as well.”
Favorite podcasts is Freakonomics. “It really makes you think about your assumptions and how to use data to make decisions.” He recently started listening to Marc Maron’s WTF.
For TV shows, watches Game of Thrones, True Detective and The Man in the High Castle, an Amazon original series. “We are cord cutters, so we get all our TV on Apple TV now, Hulu and HBO Go.”
Also been watching a lot of movies on AppleTV lately – “recently enjoyed Legend, the story of twin London gangters in the 1960s. Also watched the remake of Point Break, which is pretty terrible but has great stunts. I wish they had left it alone.”
App pick: “I can’t get enough of Spotify – every song, ever, when you want them and a great recommendation playlist on Mondays. Worth the $10 a month for sure.”
Digital device recommendation is the new Apple TV (fourth generation version). “You can install apps, just like an iPhone.”
