Hufham wins award for excellence in tourism

Kim Hufham president and CEO of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority was honored by the North Carolina Coast Host as the Tourism Person of the Year – Southern Region for 2008.

She was among three professionals in the North Carolina tourism industry to receive the honor on Jan. 15.

Hufham was awarded for her dedication to the region’s tourism industry and her significant contributions to tourism in the southeast.

With 20 years of experience in destination marketing, Hufham is a past president of N.C. Coast Host and a member of both the board of the N.C. Travel Industry Association and the Destination Marketing Association of N.C.
