UNCW career center hires assistant director

The University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Career Center recently announced that Michael V. Phillips would be the assistant director for employer development.

This position was created to increase the quality and quantity of employers, internships and jobs accessible to UNCW students and alumni, according to a news release.

In his new role, Phillips will work alongside the Career Center team and partner with the staff from the Office of the Chancellor, Alumni Relations and University Advancement.  

Phillips has worked for the past five years as a career development counselor in the Career Center.

Prior to that, he worked in the career center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned his master’s degree in higher education administration.

He also served as the assistant director for recruitment and leadership consultant for the Phi Gamma Delta International Fraternity. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
