Wilmington Family YMCA Hires New Directors

The Wilmington Family YMCA has hired a new finance director and resource development director.
Cedrick Barrett is the facility’s new finance director and will be responsible for human resources, risk management, accounting and other financial matters.
Tom Lamont is the YMCA’s new resource development director and responsible yearround fundraising programs.
Cedrick graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BS degree in finance.
He previously worked with the nonprofit DREAMS of Wilmington. He also was an accounting manager for HRH Insurance Services in Atlanta and a financial analyst for the insurance brokerage firm Willis Group Holdings.
As resource development director, Lamont will focus on annual giving, grants, endowment requests and gifts and capital campaigns for the local YMCA.
He will also work with CEO Dick Jones to develop a volunteer board of directors.
Lamont has a BA degree in speech communications from UNCW and received his MA degree from the University of Mississippi in radio/TV news.
His work experience includes 18 years in radio/television news in the Wilmington area. He served as the assistant director of alumni relations at UNCW, director of civic club development at the Boys and Girls Homes in Lake Waccamaw and event coordinator for the Trinity Children Foundation.
