Webinars are working for Talk Inc.

Local public relations firm, Talk Inc., is using web-based seminars or “webinars” to educate clients and the public on communications and Internet marketing topics. In July, Talk will host their third monthly one-hour web-based seminar on topics including social network Web site Facebook, bookmark sharing Web site Delicious and photo sharing Web site Flickr.
August’s webinar will be on “personal branding.” According to Debbie Elliot, Talk president, they conceived of the idea of providing webinars in order to improve the level of knowledge of clients on these topics.
“There is an inordinate amount of frustration and miseducation,” said Elliot. The first webinar was a bit of a challenge for Elliot. “You are talking to your computer,” not a group, said Elliot.
“You do not realize how much energy you get from your audience till they are not there.”
Elliot estimates that their first webinar had 75 registered users, but they did not know how many people are watching under one registration. Talk uses hosted software from GoToWebinar to host the events.
This software, available as a monthly subscription, provides the screen sharing and phone conferencing software.
