Twice a year, the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center gives business innovators the opportunity to get in front of an interested audience, which includes potential investors and the media.

This event is called the Rocket Pitch, and the next installment will take place Wednesday, April 18th from 6-7:30 p.m. Five entrepreneurs will compete to gain the attention of investors with a “rocket-pitch”—an eight-minute presentation to demonstrate their product, explain their business model and provide a growth plan.

Since the first event in 2009, UNC Wilmington rocket pitches have resulted in more than $5 million dollars of investments into the pitch companies and the creation of more than $100,000 in customer/client contracts.

This month’s Rocket Pitch event will feature a cloud computing company, a film company, an educational startup, a medical services business, and a company that plans to transform public works projects across the country.

The public is invited to attend this event, being held in the Burney Center on the UNCW campus. Registration is required; seats can be reserved online at http://csbapp.uncw.edu/events/reg/registration.aspx or by calling 962-2237.

The pitches will be followed by networking and product demonstrations over food and drinks.
