P.F. Chang's in Wilmington? Maybe

A popular national Asian fusion restaurant chain may make an appearance in the Port City.
Officials with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based P.F. Chang’s confirmed Wednesday that the company is “evaluating” the Wilmington market, but the restaurant chain has not “identified a specific site at this time,” according to P.F. Chang’s spokeswoman Allison Bradley.
P.F. Chang’s is known for its distinctive Asian-American dishes like its caramel mango chicken and its Chang’s chicken lettuce wraps. The restaurant also offers gluten-free items, various lunch specials and happy hours in an upscale dining atmosphere.
Its parent company — Pei Wei Asian Diner — also offers similar menu items with smaller portions and prices, but in a more casual dining atmosphere.
Bradley would not confirm whether Wilmington is being considered for a future P.F. Chang’s or a Pei Wei restaurant.
P.F. Chang’s currently operates more than 200 restaurants worldwide, including two restaurants in metro Charlotte, and additional chains in Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro and Asheville.
