Brunswick Forest residents will begin to see movement on a 55,000-square-foot retail site that will include a Lowe’s Foods and CVS Pharmacy. Workers have begun site preparation and early steps on construction with the stores projected to open in the summer of 2012.

“I’m glad to see them moving forward with building. It shows a positive future for Brunswick Forest,” said Dana Fisher, executive director of the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce. “With Lowe’s and CVS, I’m hoping that more things come now. Build it and they will come.”

The construction crew started clearing the lot and ground for the 42,000-square-foot Lowe’s, the 13,000-square-foot CVS along with an additional 8,000 square feet of retail space.

“We’re delighted to have both Lowe’s Foods and CVS/pharmacy join our existing tenants at The Villages,” said Alan Kerry, president of Lord Baltimore Properties, the sole developer of the Brunswick Forest community, in a press release. “They bring a major regional and national retail presence to The Villages, and will go far in serving the growing needs of the residents of Brunswick Forest and the greater Brunswick County area.”
