State Tourism Survey Seeks Input

By Jenny Callison, posted Aug 11, 2014
To improve its tourism marketing efforts, the N.C. Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development wants to hear ideas from its industry partners in the state. So the division is conducting an online survey, which officials describe as "critical to the evolution of the division's marketing efforts on behalf of the state."

Survey responses will be factored into the division's annual strategic planning process, according to a news release from the division. In fact, survey respondents are encouraged to attend regional mid-year marketing update events this fall, the release stated.

"Audiences, geographic markets, cooperative programs and industry communications are among the topics covered in the survey," the release stated. "Survey results will be used to help shape the Division's priorities for the 2015-16 fiscal year plan, which will be introduced to the industry in March at the 2015 N.C. Governor's Conference on Tourism in Pinehurst."

The survey is available online until 5 p.m. Aug. 15.

North Carolina travel industry partners completing the survey will be eligible for a random drawing that will award one North Carolina organization a $3,000 co-op credit for use on the division's consumer website, VisitNC.com, the release stated.
