Wahine Classic Surf Event

Watch out boys. On Aug. 16 and 17, wahines of all ages and levels return for the challenge to compete in an all-female surf event on the south end of Wrightsville Beach, according to a press release from the Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Pro shortboard and pro longboard (all ages), amateur shortboard and longboard (grouped by age), novice, standup paddleboard and guppy divisions are included.

Organizer Jo Pickett said 120 competitors and more than 300 spectators are expected.
