Walking Tour Apps Available For Download

By Susan Hance, posted Mar 17, 2014
Dan Camacho and Beverly Tetterton have released two apps, Old Wilmington I: 2nd Street to the River and Old Wilmington II: 3rd Street and East, making it easier than ever for visitors and locals to access historical information at their own pace, Tetterton said.

Each of the 15-16 stops contained on the app features multiple photographs, including views from the past and views of the inside of buildings. A map is included with GPS coordinates for the two-hour tour.

Participants can stand in front of a location, read information or
listen to a narrative, enlarge images and replay information.

The apps are available for Apple and Android devices for $3.99 each
at www.wilmingtonhistorytours.com, and a sample mini tour is available.

More apps including Old Wilmington Pub Crawl, Lost Front Street and African-American History are coming out soon, Tetterton said.
