NHRMC Expands Cancer Services In Brunswick

By Staff Reports, posted Aug 6, 2020
New Hanover Regional Medical Center is expanding its cancer treatment services in Brunswick County.

NHRMC Physician Group-Cape Fear Cancer Specialists recently moved its Leland location from Waterford to Brunswick Forest.

The space for expanded services is in the NHRMC Health & Diagnostics building at Brunswick Forest, 1333 S. Dickinson Drive, Suite 200.

Hematology and medical oncology will be the first services offered in the space, New Hanover Regional Medical Center officials said this week.

“The new location will have 15 infusion chairs for patients to receive chemotherapy or hematology treatments,” a press release stated, adding that it opened with on-site laboratory and pharmacy services.

Other clinical and support services are included in the expansion plans.

The other site for cancer services is at the hospital’s main campus on South 17th Street in Wilmington at the Zimmer Cancer Center.

“We are all very excited about the new Brunswick Forest location,” Andrew Schreiber, a medical oncologist with Cape Fear Cancer Specialists, said in the release. “It allows us to provide much of the same services in Brunswick County as we do in Zimmer Cancer Center, increasing access for all of our patients with cancer and blood disorders while decreasing travel time to appointments.”
